For the external grinding of large parts the companies routinely choose the Okuma GA / GP-36-FII and GA / FP-47-FII grinders. The same spindle power, headstock and tailstock construction as used in our smaller series of GA / GP-FII machines reappear in the new machines capable of processing even longer parts. As the size of the parts has been enlarged, the maximum material weight has also been increased. The 36-FII and 47-FII can now support weight of up to 300kg. The large discs are used as a standard in the automotive and aerospace industries to provide the machining of external diameters of the jet engine parts and transmission subassemblies.
